Fountain Hall

Fountain Hall is a historic residence in Culpeper, Virginia that has found new life as a Bed & Breakfast. Originally constructed in 1859, it withstood the ravages of the Civil War, and was purchased in 1985 by Steve and Kathi Walker. They used it to create Culpeper’s first B & B.

bnb-2Our challenge was to create a comfort solution for a historic home in a historically sensitive neighborhood. The building offered little space for ductwork, we were committed to preserving the views from each guest room, and the grounds needed to remain uncluttered by large, noisy units. Guests should be able to control the climate in their own room, and a busy schedule gave us very limited time to conduct the work.

Our solution was to install a Mitsubishi Multi-Zone ductless unit. This provided for heating, cooling, and individual controls for each room. Quiet and energy-efficient, each zone provides comfort and allergen filtration within a very small footprint. A unit that has been off all day or evening can reach the desired temperature within a few minutes. Best of all for the Fountain Hall owners, we were able to complete the work in less than a week, limiting their vacancies and improving their investment.
